Getting Here
At first glance, Bequia may seem remote and hard to reach - but do not be put off: It is not difficult to get here! Frequent international flights serve 6 major Caribbean "gateways": San Juan - Puerto Rico, Barbados, St Lucia, Martinique, Grenada and Trinidad. From any of these, a short transfer to Bequia's own airport is hassle-free and an enjoyable part of the island-life experience.
We recommend you to fly directly into Bequia with a flight from SVG or Mustique Airways from one of these "Gateways", the most common one being Barbados. Feel free to contact Alica at info@mustique.com who has always been very helpful. Alternatively, we would also happily manage your connection with these carriers free of any charges as we are also their local agents. You can use either a scheduled flight or a private charter (which is a particularly attractive option for a larger group). These local carriers offer flight services to and from the island several times a day and will usually wait for your international connection in Barbados with their meet and greet service which will take you directly into the departure lounge without you having to pick up your luggage (Mustique Airways service personel will do this for you).
Another popular route would include a flight into St. Vincent via any of the major Caribbean islands, followed by a short ferry ride to Bequia (about and hour, port-to-port). The ferry ride is a wonderful experience and a number of visitors choose this way of getting here due to the beauty of the passage across St. Vincent channel to Bequia. If you prefer to fly into St. Vincent, we would recommend the connection via Trinidad, Puert Rico, or Barbados as they are most efficient and frequent.
